Primary Purpose:
Promote positive public relations between the school campus and community. Coordinate school partnerships with volunteers, parent organizations such as PTAs/PTOs. businesses, civic organizations and, at times, governmental entities. Distribute pertinent information about the campus and its activities to employees, parents, and community.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university, Masters preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated skills in writing, editing and public speaking
Thorough knowledge of media relations and public relations functions
Ability to interpret policy, procedures and data
Ability to use personal computer to design and produce district publications
Ability to use advanced text and graphic software to produce presentations
Experience:
Three years teaching or administrator experience
Classroom experience preferred
Familiarization of district/board policy and state mandates
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Acts as a liaison between the campus and parent/community groups
- Distribute pertinent information about the district and its activities to parents and community members
- Assists administration, students, staff, teachers, parents and community members in establishing and implementing effective parent/community programs.
- Articulates needs of parents and coordinates and provides training for parents/staff.
- Assists in coordinating with community leaders and organizations.
- Coordinates and creates opportunities for parents to develop the skills needed to function effectively in a working relationship between home, school and community throughout the year.

- Supports the goals and objectives of the district/campus and follow district/campus policies
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Maintain a professional level of confidentiality regarding all district/campus matters.
