Primary Purpose:

Provide digital learning leadership and guidance at the campus level.  Act as the liaison for digital learning initiatives on assigned campuses. Ensure the seamless integration of the Technology Applications TEKS through the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of instructional technologies. Facilitate the integration of technology into the curriculum and provide support of district programs on assigned campuses.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree

Valid Texas teaching certificate

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications

Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners

Knowledge of curriculum and technology used in instructional setting

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

Two years teaching experience

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Collaborate with instructional staff in evaluating and selecting technology tools to enhance learning through improved integration of technology into the curriculum. 
  2. Share technical and instructional strategies with teachers for the effective use of technology in the classroom including modeling technology-integrated lessons.
  3. Provide campus and district level staff development on technology issues including use of computer hardware and software applications, maintenance, general troubleshooting, as well as previewing, evaluating, and selecting technology tools.
  4. Plan, implement, and evaluate instructional programs with teachers and principals, including learning objectives and assessment techniques.
  5. Plan the necessary time, resources, and materials to support accomplishment of educational goals.
  6. Actively support the efforts of others to achieve campus goals, objectives, and campus performance objectives.
  7. Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to examine program effectiveness and provide support with digital learning.
  8. Provide effective staff development activities that incorporate the mission of the district, program evaluation outcomes, and input from teachers and others.
  9. Assist principal(s) and campus committees with planning of technology training, implementation of technology plans, and selection of technology equipment and software.
  10. Assist in evaluating the implementation of technology at the campus level.
  11. Assist in monitoring purchases, use, and inventory of legal software at the campus level.
  12. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, local board policy, and district acceptable use policy.
  13. Compile, maintain, and present all reports, records, and other documents required.
  14. Demonstrate use of appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
  15. Review and analyze data, including student achievement data, to examine the effectiveness of technology curriculum support.
  16. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible and serve as a role model for all staff.
  17. Actively seek training and information, which will enhance skills and knowledge, related to responsibilities.
  18. Model behaviors, which ensure the development of a team, focused on problem solving and meeting student needs.
  19. Comply with all routines and regulations.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress; maintain a clear focus on customer service

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand and move throughout the facilities. Duties also require repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; moderate standing, stooping, bending, lifting/transport of up to 50lbs and the ability to work with frequent interruptions. Frequent district-wide and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
